On the evening of August 20, the annual Fitness and Entertainment Awards, hosted by CMG.ASIA, took place at Quan Khu 7 Indoor Stadium. UFC Gym reveals this year’s winners and other exciting moments from the star-studded night!

The annual Fitness and Entertainment Awards is a prestigious awards show that honors individuals who have made a significant contribution to the fitness and entertainment industries in Vietnam, who have inspired people to live a healthier life and helped to make life better for people across the country. At this year’s award show, a number of well known names in the entertainment industry came out to celebrate, including Ho Ngoc Ha, Pham Huong, designer Ly Qui Khanh, Nguyen Thu Thuy, Vu Cat Tuong, Ho Vinh Khoa, Quang Vinh and more.

This year there was a total on 39 nominees across 6 categories: Fitness and Entertainment Icon of the Year, Athlete of the Year, People’s Choice - Most Inspirational #IAMMORE, Fitness and Entertainment Influencer of the Year, #XYMLB Lifetime Achievement Award (a special award that celebrates CMG.ASIA’s 10 years of Making Life Better in Vietnam) and the CMG.ASIA Most Beautiful Person of the Year.
The Fitness and Entertainment Icon of the Year went to Pham Huong. She was both happy and surprised to hear her name when it was called on the stage. With a beautiful, strong look, she often appears in dynamic and athletic images and promotes living a healthy lifestyle, making her completely deserving of this title.

Songstress Ho Ngoc Ha was the recipient of the CMG.ASIA Most Beautiful Person of the Year award, narrowly beating out close friend Li Quiqing. Athlete of the Year went to Nguyen Tran Duy Nhat, Vietnam’s leading Muay Thai fighter. During his acceptance speech, he shared that the felt lucky to receive the award and thanked the president of the the Vietnam Muay Federation and all of his supporters. He also called for support for the Vietnamese team currently participating in the 29th SEA Games in Malaysia.

The People’s Choice Award this year was for the Most Inspirational #IAMMORE story. The #IAMMORE campaign was created by CMG.ASIA and celebrities such as Pham Huong, MC Tung Leo, Vu Cat Tuong and Bao Anh all took part to try and inspire the Vietnamese public. The aim of the #IAMMORE stories was to show that there is more to each person than meets the eye, that with dedication, hard work and a healthy lifestyle, you can overcome your own limits. The winner of the People’s Choice Award was Vu Cat Tuong. Talking about her #IAMMORE story, she shared that she was very emotional and touched when she saw her video for the very first time. She also went on to say that to overcome her own challenges, the only way was to face them head on and power through them.

CMG.ASIA also honoured the young generation with the Fitness and Entertainment Influencer of the Year award. Nominees in this category are active in a variety of different areas and industries but have achieved a number of significant accomplishments, particularly when it comes to inspiring a healthy and active lifestyle in their audience. The recipient of this award was Quynh Chau, who said that this was a great and meaningful award in her career.

The final award of the evening was the #XYMLB Lifetime Achievement Award, an award honouring people who have spent the past 10 years Making Life Better. California Fitness and Yoga Senior Coach, Tieu Phuong was the winner of this awards. Standing on the stage, she was extremely proud and surprised, thanking CMG.ASIA for helping to change her life and make it what it is today.

The CMG.ASIA Fitness and Entertainment Awards was the culmination of a series of events that were part of LEEP ASIA 2017, organised by CMG.ASIA as part of their 10 year anniversary celebration. From August 18 – 20, people had the chance to take part in the expo, Celebrity Yogathon, Fitness Jamboree, Zumba Dance Fiesta, LEEP Leadership Talks and the Muscle Contest.
